If you are interested in purchasing a print, then as well as viewing the photographs, have a look at the print and mount options that I provide on this site. All print options are of exceptional quality and are printed by one of the UK's most respected professional printers. I particularly like the the Perspex Reverse Mount option (paper prints mounted to acrylic glass) as the super high gloss finish really does show a photo at its best, it is sleek, minimalist and is a work of art in itself! My MDF block mount option provides an alternative to the very popular canvas print option.
All print and mount options are priced differently, however this is to take production costs into account. I have a fixed price that I charge for the photographic art at any particular size, and I try to make the art as affordable as possible, so you get exclusive, original and high quality compositions at a very reasonable price.
I also sell my prints direct to the public all over the country at art and craft fairs.
About me
I call myself an outdoors photographer rather than a landscape or travel photographer. I became more and more interested in photography during long bouts of backpacking and cycletouring around the world. Because of this travelling background I learnt to take photographs spontaneously and intuitively, making the most of fleeting moments by the use of strong and original composition.
All images on this site are taken by me and are all Limited Editions above certain sizes. This ensures exclusivity, as I don’t allow commercial websites to sell my images as cheap mass production posters or prints.
Some of the photographs here are available via online picture libraries where they are regularly licensed for print in magazines and newspapers around the world, as well as licensed for use in marketing and advertising campaigns.
About photography
A photographer needs to and should want to engage with the place that he or she is in. It should never just be about lining up the shot and clicking the shutter. You might be in a rural village in Europe or Africa, in which case you need to engage with the people, and both need to feel comfortable with one another. You might be in a forest or on a mountain, or just walking along a street. If you appreciate the environment that you are in... the people, the noises, the smells, or the silence and tranquility, then compositions will jump out and grab you.
Composition is everything, of which light is merely one component, and a photograph is made up of a number of components. It is the combination of some or many of those elements along with natural and intuitive compositional skills that creates a good photograph.
